Oakland Ballers Community Mission
The Oakland Ballers are dedicated to delivering a joyful, community focused experience for Oakland and the entire East Bay. We vow to never leave town. Built by Oakland, for Oakland, forever Oakland.
With that in mind, we invested over $1.6 million into Raimondi Park, which was once touted for contributing “more baseball stars than any park in the country.” Raimondi Park is the field where Oakland greats like Frank Robinson and Curt Flood first honed their skills, but it had fallen into disrepair.
After our renovations, a field previously unplayable by little leaguers became a professional baseball stadium that brought nearly 100,000 fans to West Oakland. And most importantly, it was returned to the community.
The Ballers only play 48 home games a year, which allows for Little League Championships, High School baseball tournaments and even community movie nights to take place at our ballpark. And the rapid success we delivered at Raimondi Park proved that the City of Oakland can indeed get things done quickly with good community partners.
For these reasons, the Ballers were named the Trailblazers of the Year by Assemblymember Mia Bonta.
Oakland’s history of resilience inspires the Ballers’ vision to build a team, and sustain it by revolutionizing the connection between teams and communities. The Ballers inspired a new era of sports ownership that prioritizes fans and recognizes their essential value to a team. Last year, we became the first sports franchise in the world to add a fan to the board of directors.
And the Ballers were built with a focus on community-driven impact, which is why we formed The Ballunteers, a dynamic volunteer organization of Oakland Ballers fans dedicated to supporting and empowering local non-profits through the power of collective action. Whether it's providing hands-on assistance at events, offering professional expertise, or contributing time to various projects, the Ballunteers enable volunteers to make a meaningful difference in their communities.
The Ballers believe that a new model for a more authentic partnership between fans and teams with guardrails is critical, and that Oakland, a city with a rich legacy of fighting to make the world a better place, is the perfect community to help it materialize.
