Ballers Unveil Jerseys for the 2024 Season
(Oakland, CA)—Today the Oakland Ballers announced AAA Northern California, which has proudly called Northern California home for more than 100 years, will be Oakland Ballers jersey sponsors for the 2024 season.
"Yesterday's announcement said we were going AAA, and some thought that meant we were announcing our promotion to AAA. What we meant to say is that we're proud to announce our promotion of AAA Northern California, via our newly unveiled jerseys, which they will be sponsoring for our inaugural season. Thank you to our incredible fans for indulging our dad joke, we are grateful to everyone for taking this little prank in good faith. All joking aside, we are excited to announce this new sponsorship with AAA Northern California and BART," said Paul Freedman, co-founder of the Oakland Ballers.
AAA Northern California has a proud history of serving Members for more than 100 years. In addition to legendary roadside assistance, AAA offers home, auto, and life insurance, travel, and home security services.
"We're delighted to sign up such an iconic brand as our first sponsor. AAA is one of the most trusted brands in North America. AAA Northern California's decision to partner with us is a testament to the power of our efforts to build a sports team for the people of Oakland. We're proud to rep Oakland and that's why the back of our home and away jerseys clearly say "Oakland." The Ballers are always carrying Oakland on our back," said Bryan Carmel, co-founder of the Oakland Ballers.
"We are proud to sponsor the Oakland Ballers in their inaugural season," said Brian MacAdam, Chief Marketing Officer of AAA Northern California. "Just like professional baseball, we've had roots in the Bay Area for many years and are honored to support an organization committed to keeping the rich history of Oakland alive. On behalf of AAA Members we look forward to supporting the Oakland Ballers and the community on and off the diamond."
In non prank related sponsorship news, the B's also announced a partnership with Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), one of the country's preeminent public transit systems. BART will also feature on the Baller's jerseys. B's fans already helped BART achieve record ridership last Saturday, which the agency has partially attributed to Oakland Fan Fest, an event with a robust Ballers presence.
"BART is excited to partner with the Oakland Ballers on their inaugural season and even more excited to have our iconic logo on the Ballers jersey. BART has a long history of carrying fans to their favorite Bay Area sporting events and we're looking forward to welcoming the Ballers to Oakland. We at BART are proud to provide safe, clean and reliable train service to the Bay Area and can't wait to see the Ballers take the field with the BART logo on their sleeves. I'm sure these jerseys will be the hottest selling merch of the summer and I'm looking forward to buying my own as soon as I can," said David Martindale, BART Director of Marketing and Research
Oakland Ballers recently announced they would play their inaugural season at Raimondi Park, a historic Oakland ballpark, for their inaugural Spring 2024 season. The Ballers have also unveiled a $1.6 million dollar plan to reactivate the field ensuring it can accommodate not only the Baller's 48 home games, but year round access by the community. Raimondi Park holds a special place in Oakland's baseball history, it is said Raimondi produced "more baseball stars than any park in the country", serving as the training ground for legends such as Frank Robinson and Curt Flood. It was always the first choice for the Oakland Ballers, given its storied legacy.
The official Oakland Ballers jerseys have been designed by Dustin O. Canalin, who also designed the Baller's logo. Canalin spearheaded the Nike development team responsible for creating "The Town" jerseys worn during the Golden State Warriors' last seasons in Oakland. The Ballers jersey will prominently feature the name "Oakland" on the back, for both the home and away jerseys, symbolizing the team's commitment to always carry Oakland on its back.
